Ariel Gail

Prof. Gail S. Goodman holds an Distinguished Chair in Psychology at the University of California Davis and is Director of the Center for Public Policy Research. She is widely known for her pioneering modern research of children's memory as eyewitnesses and also the application of child victims in court settings. Professor Goodman is a prolific author, has won several prizes and grants. She has worked with various government agencies and governments across the world regarding policies and studies on children as victims within the legal system. She has been a consultant with the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center and was previously known as the Multidisciplinary Interview Center of Sacramento County Child Protective Services. She is a part of many professional organizations including the Association for Psychological Science and the American Psychological Association (Divisions Experimental Psychology Developmental Psychology Society for the Psychological Study of Social Issues Society for Child and Family Policy and Practice American Psychology Law Society Psychological Psychology of women and trauma stress 56). She was a founder member of the American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children, the Psychonomics Society Society for Research into Child Development as well as the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. Professor Goodman has been the president of three divisions (Division Society for Child and Family Policy as well as Practice Division of the American Psychology-Law Society as well as Division Developmental Psychology) and one Section (Child Maltreatment) of the American Psychological Association.
