Anoushka Shankar
Anoushka Shankar is a British-American sitarist as well as a music producer. She was among the youngest and the first woman to be awarded the British House of Commons Shield she's had Nine Grammy Awards nominations and was the first artist of Indian origin to play live and to be a presenter for the award ceremony. Anoushka Sitar Shankar was one of the Indian young sitar star. She is a student and daughter to Ravi Shankar. Born in London, she spent the beginning of her career traveling between London and New Delhi. Her first performance took place at New Delhi when she was thirteen years old. After moving to Encinitas, the state of California, in 1999 she earned an honorary high school certificate. Even though she's very young Anouskha is an accomplished performer and recording. She performs regularly together with her dad, and has done so for quite a number of years. In 1998, she released Anourag as her first single album. The album was titled the album Live At Carnegie Hall, a Grammy-nominated album a year later. She has performed at most important venues across the world. Her career doesn't just comprise music. Bapi the The Love of My Live, a biographical picture dedicating to her dad Ravi Shankar was published in 2002. In 2003 she starred as a Bharat Natyam dancer in Dance Like a Man. Anoushka is still progressing on her path and we can expect many more things to come from this talented woman. Anoushka Shakar, born in England lived the majority of her adult life in London Delhi. Following her move to California she finished high school. In Delhi at his 75thbirthday celebration she made her debut as a sitar player before the crowd of four years following her nine-year-old father. Anoushka's father toured around across the world with her and she was able to gain many new experiences. While still in her teens, Anoushka performed at Carnegie Hall during Peter Gabriel's WOMAD Music Festival. To honor her position as an outstanding musician in the field of Asian Arts, she was presented with the House of Commons Shield by British Parliament.
